For many people the clearest way to start a life in Canada is through the education system — a study permit is easier to qualify for than most permanent routes, and it puts you in the country, with Canadian credentials and Canadian work experience, before you apply for anything longer term.
Why study in Canada
Canada is a multicultural country with one of the highest educational levels in the world, and its institutions are used to international students. Studying here is also the most common first step towards permanent residence: Canadian education and Canadian work experience both count in the federal selection system.
The options we usually discuss
- Bachelor’s degree — a full university programme, the longest route but the strongest credential.
- College diploma with co-op — shorter, more practical, and the work placements build Canadian experience while you study.
- Postgraduate and certificate programmes — for people who already hold a degree and want a Canadian credential in less time.
What matters when choosing
The institution has to be a designated learning institution or the study permit does not follow, and not every programme leads to a post-graduation work permit. Those two facts decide more of the outcome than the brochure does, so we check them first, then work back from the career you want rather than forward from the cheapest tuition.
